RICHARD H. COMPTON

Richard H. Compton, 87, of Green Lane, died October 2, 2009.  He was the husband of the late Helen (Blanchard) Compton.  Born in Bustleton, he was a son of the late William and Anne (Slocum) Compton.

He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII.  He and his wife owned and operated Compton Products in Nasonville, Rhode Island, for many years until retiring in 1965.  He was a former member of #13 F&A.M., Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Surviving are daughters: Priscilla, wife of Howard Crafford, of Maine; Patricia Rogler and Helen Busby, both of Massachusetts and Nancy, wife of Merrill Derstine, of Harleysville; sisters: Grace Best, of Topsfield, Massachusetts and Helen, wife of Benjamin Slovak, of Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.  Brothers Donald, Norman, and William, and sister, Mildred, predeceased him.
