Richard M. Buck

        Richard M. Buck, 81, husband of the late Ethel A. (Poggi) Buck, of Red Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospice - Allentown.

        Born in Red Hill, he was the son of the late Earl and Beatrice (Moll) Buck.
        Richard worked for Montgomery County Bridge Construction for 25 years prior to working at the former Pillsbury Baking Co. of East Greenville for eight years before retiring. He was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg.
        Richard loved baseball; he was inducted into the Tri-County League Baseball Hall of Fame, played first base for the Phillies minor league. He was past president of the Upper Perk Sports Boosters and coached for the Perkiomen Legion and Upper Perk Little League.
        Surviving are children, R. Michael Buck and wife, Nancy, Red Hill; Scott B. Buck and wife, Lynda, East Greenville; Barbara A. Prizer widow of Wayne, East Greenville; Glenn P. Buck and wife, Stacey, Spinnerstown; Gordon A. Buck, Red Hill; Leighann M. Cannon and husband, David, Red Hill; and Chris L. Buck and wife, Wendy, Pennsburg; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
        A funeral mass was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery.   There was a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
        Arrangements were by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
