Eleanor H. Gilde

In loving memory of Eleanor H. (Tapler) Gilde, June 1, 1924 to March 4, 2013, loving wife of George N. Gilde, of Green Lane, passed away at Manor Care-Allentown.

Born in Lower Milford Township, Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late John and Hedwig (Unger) Tapler.

She worked as a seamstress for many years before retiring from the former Rosenau Clothing Company in Red Hill.

She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Pennsburg.

Eleanor was the loving mother of Cindy Gilde, wife of Ed Longazel, of Sumneytown, and Karen Kaufmann, wife of Raymond, of Red Hill; sister of John Tapler of Allentown, Gisele, widow of Walter Alderfer, of Telford, and Florence, widow of Joseph Berner, Rose Ann and Lily Tapler, all of Zionsville; grandmother of Vincent Kaufmann and wife Lydia, Felicia Kaufmann and two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Brigitta Kaufmann. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a son, George Joseph Gilde, a brother, William Tapler and sisters, Helen Ehritz and Violet Snyder.

A funeral mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
