DOROTHY H. SMITH
Dorothy H. (Adams) Smith, 94, widow of Robert H. Smith, Sr., of McLean Station Road, Green Lane, died peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her home.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Helen (Long) Adams.
Dorothy was a graduate of Hallahan Girls Catholic High School in Philadelphia. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Along with her husband, they operated cafeterias in the King of Prussia area and were the former owners and founders of the former Candlewyck Inn Restaurant in Green Lane from 1965 to 1978.
Surviving is her daughter, Barbara A., wife of Robert Schwind, of Green Lane; four grandchildren: Brian P. Schwind, Kimberly Hamada, Robert H. Smith III and David Smith, and five great-grandchildren: Luke and Eric Hamada and Morgan, Lauren and Michael Smith. Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Robert H. Smith, Jr.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
The family requests memorial contributions to be made in her memory to St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 and/or to Grandview Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
