2013-02-13

Louise C. Detweiler, 94, of Pennsburg Manor, and formerly of Naceville, died Friday, February 8, 2013, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the wife of the late Clarence A. Detweiler, who died July 30, 2003.

Born in Ottsville, she was the daughter of the late Jonas M. and Bertha (Spirk) Mood.
A gifted seamstress, Mrs. Detweiler was employed by the former H & F Clothing Factory, Perkasie, for 25 years until retiring in 1980. Previously, she worked for the former Penn Pants Factory, the former Wispese Girdle Factory and the former Royal Pants Factory, all in Perkasie.
She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Almont.
In addition to sewing, she enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning. She loved her cats and was the “hub” of her family, which was her number one priority.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise B. Hafler, of Green Lane, and Joan M. Frederick and her husband James R., of East Rockhill Township; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Mood and his wife Jane, of Quakertown; two sisters, Florence Godshall, of Lansdale, and Edna Thomas and her husband Arthur, of Telford, and several nieces. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Victor Papili, in 2003, four sisters, Jennie Steich, Millie Mood, Bertha DiRocco and Frances Leister, and two sisters in infancy.
Her funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 733 Ridge Road, Sellersville (Almont), where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
