Anna M. Parestis
Anna M. (Kzepton) Parestis, 93, widow of Joseph A. Parestis, formerly of Perkiomenville and East Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Frederick Living.
Born in Clifton Heights, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Koswalski) Kzepton.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Perkiomenville until eighth grade, then worked on the family farm until she was 16. She worked in a sewing factory in Red Hill making Army jackets while she attended a beauty school in Allentown until receiving her hair dressing license. She then became a self-employed hairdresser in her home in East Greenville for many years before retiring in the 1960s after breaking her arm. She also enjoyed planting flowers, loved cats and fishing and dancing the polka with her husband.
She was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Anna will be sadly missed by her son, Larry M. Parestis, of Perkiomenville and a nephew, Tony Parestis and wife, Barbara, of Pennsburg. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Stanley Septon.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at church.
