Mattie F. Smeltz

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mattie F. (Ranck) Smeltz, 86, of Red Hill, went to heaven on January 26, 2013. She was the wife of Robert L. Smeltz, celebrating 67 years of marriage on August 15, 2012.

Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Bogart) Ranck.

Throughout her life she enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the American Legion Post #184 Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert; four daughters: Sandra, wife of Vernon Wardle, of Pennsburg, Helen Smeltz of Pennsburg, Linda Bergey of Flagler Beach, Florida and Robin, wife of John Garis, of Pennsburg; 10 grandchildren: Craig, Robert, Hollie, Maria, James, Kathryn, Jenelle, Jamie, Kristina and Vanessa; and 15 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a son, James Lamar Smeltz, and four sisters, Violet Lee, Emma Jane Ranck, Mary Ranck and Phoebe Stanfield.

A viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.

A private family service and burial will be held following the viewing.
