William J. McPhillips 2013-01-23 William J. McPhillips, 76, of Pennsburg, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Judy B. (Alkon) McPhillips, celebrating 48 years of marriage on June 12, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Murphy) McPhillips.
William was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church; he loved to golf and belonged to the former Oak Terrace Golf Club of Horsham.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Dr. Glenn Steven McPhillips, and his wife, Dr. Tomeko, of Selma, Alabama; brother, Edward McPhillips, and wife, Kathy, of Cape May, New Jersey; brother-in-law, Brian Alkon, and wife, Maxine, Bermuda; seven grandchildren: Dane and wife, Kayla McPhillips, Noel, Cole, Ashley, and Christian McPhillips, Jack and Grace Galbavy; one great-grandson, Jaxson Gregory McPhillips; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Gregory Brian McPhillips, two brothers, Joseph and Richard McPhillips and a sister, Catherine Reid.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
