Robert C. Guskey
Robert C. Guskey, 89, of the Highlands of Wyomissing, and formerly of Barto, Perkiomenville, Yardley, and Johnstown, died January 7, 2013 at the Phoebe Home in Wernersville, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Evelyn (Yarnick) Guskey.
Born in South Fork, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (MacTavish) Guskey.
He served his country honorably in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a service manager and field engineer with the former Burroughs Corp (now Unisys) in Johnstown, Pittsburgh, and Trenton, New Jersey, for 43 years, retiring in 1985 from the Cherry Hill office. He was a 60-year member of the Cambria Lodge, # 278, F. & A.M.; a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post # 551, St. Michael’s, and a member of the Pike Township Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving with his wife, is a son, Dr. Thomas R. Guskey, of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters, Marcia Grieder, of Reading, and Karen Terzopolos, of Palm, and five grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, Christopher, Nicole, Hallie. He was predeceased by a son, David, a brother, William, and a sister, Margaret Skotschir.
Memorial services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, South Fork. Friends called from 10:30 am until services. Interment followed in the Grand View Cemetery, Johnstown.
