Ray F. Bittenbender

Ray F. Bittenbender, 63, of Boyertown, died on Friday, December 21, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hosptial – Cedar Crest.

Born in California, he was the son of the late Owen H. and Etta (Fox) Bittenbender.

He was a 1967 graduate of Boyertown High School. He worked as a weaver at Bally Ribbon Mills for the past 45 years and also performed as a magician under his own name and also as Ray Brodan performing up until October of 2011. He was a member of the Janus Theatre Company of the Upper Perkiomen Valley in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Ray was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church and a member of the Brotherhood of Magicians since 1968.

He is survived by several cousins and extended family.

A funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Rebecca Y. Stephens officiating. Burial followed in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery. Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening and also from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.
