Sidney Joseph “Sid” Peart, Sr.
Sidney Joseph “Sid” Peart, Sr., 71, of East Greenville, died on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at home. He was the husband of Kathryn M. (Hrinda) Peart, celebrating 54 years of marriage on December 20.
Born in Sumneytown, he was a son of the late Sidney P. and Fannie C. (Reed) Peart.
He worked as a maitre d’ at the Squires Country Club in Ambler for 35 years, retiring in 2009.
He was an avid fisherman, collected videos and movies and had been a former pitcher for the Red Hill Cardinals softball team.
He will be sadly missed by his wife; children: Sidney J. Peart, Jr. and wife, Charlyn, of Green Lane, Stephen W. Peart, of East Greenville, Michael T. Peart and wife, Michele, of Green Lane, Michelle M. Leister, of Pennsburg and Kimberly A. Peart, of East Greenville; siblings, Jim Peart, of Harleysville, Pat, wife of Raymond “Lover” Hank, of Pennsburg, Dot Walbert, of Pennsburg, Joan Teele of Slatington; Walter Peart, of East Greenville, Ray Peart of Pennsburg, Mark “Corky” Peart and wife, Judy, of Pennsburg; six grandchildren: Meghan, Ryan, Nathaniel, Cassandra and Jody Peart and Owen Leister and great-grandson, Jaden Ray Peart. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Tara Golden Peart, and a brother, Gil Peart.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
