Upper Perk Police said the two men suspected of robbing the CVS Pharmacy, 290 Pottstown Avenue, Pennsburg on Oct. 5 are in custody in Lackawanna County on unrelated charges.
Authorities are not identifying the men until they are formally charged for the Pennsburg crime. Unconfirmed reports stated the pair was arrested on outstanding warrants while in Scranton.
Upper Perk Police Det. Matthew Boaman said they will be extradited to Delaware to face additional robbery charges unrelated to the Pennsburg incident.
After being charged in Delaware, they will be returned to Pennsylvania, at which time the will face charges in the Pennsburg incident. Boaman said Upper Perk Police hope to arrest the men in December when they are expected to be formally arraigned in Lackawanna County.
According to police, the men entered the CVS around 3:25 Oct. 5 and handed an 18-year-old female cashier a note demanding cash. The note indicated that the pair were armed and would shoot if she didn’t comply.
The cashier reportedly turned over an undisclosed amount of money and the men fled the store.
