An early morning fire severely damaged a 100-foot x 300-foot Richland Township warehouse at 130 Penn Am Drive on Friday.
Firefighters from Quakertown and Richland Township were called to the scene around 4:30 and found flames and heavy smoke coming from the structure. The building is occupied by Innovative Finishers; a painting and powder-coating business and three other businesses. The area housing Innovative Finishers sustained the heaviest damage.
The fire was brought under control around 7 a.m. and companies remained on the scene well into the morning.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimate was available.
Crews from Bucks, Lehigh and Montgomery were called in to assist. Fire companies responding included Coopersburg, Dublin, East Greenville, Haycock, Milford Township, Ottsville, Pennsburg, Perkasie, Richlandtown, Sellersville, Silverdale, Souderton, Springtown, Trumbauersville and Tylersport.
