Record number of participants turn out for YMCA Fun Run and Walk.

Runners in Saturday's "5K Fun Run and Walk," sponsored by the Upper Perk YMCA, race off the starting line on Edgeview Street in East Greenville. Three hundred three people participated in the ninth annual event.

Bill Clark, pushing his daughter Maribella, keeps pace with the top runners as they zoom along. Clark was able to finish in third place overall.

Upper Perk High School runner Avery Scripture took first place overall.

Cameron Junk get high-fives from Upper Perk High School runners as he crosses the finish line.

Kristen Reed of Upper Hanover Township was the first female runner to finish.

Runners in the event descend the first hill on the course on Kraussdale Road in Upper Hanover Township. Part of funds raised from entry fees went towards financial assistance for people in need to join and a program which provides free memberships to all seventh-graders at the YMCA.
