Lady Indians Hockey Out of PAC-10 Playoffs
Written by By Brian Kapp, Correspondent

Upper Perk's Emily Rodenberger battles for the ball against a Perk Valley player during play in Tuesday night's PAC-10 final four playoff game at Upper Perk.

Conference play came to an end for the Upper Perkiomen Lady Indians field hockey team with a 2-0 loss to Perkiomen Valley in a PAC-10 conference semifinal game Tuesday night at Upper Perk High School.
Perkiomen Valley’s Sarah Roos scored both goals to lead the Lady Vikings.
Roos’s first goal came at the 19 minute mark in the first half with an assist from Giese Chandler. Then, with 18:11 remaining in the second half, Roos hit the goal again to finish the scoring for the night.
While the Lady Indians were certainly disappointed with the loss, head coach Jamie Warren expects the team to learn from the loss as they prepare for district play next week.
“Our intensity was not as consistent as it needs to be for the entire game. While we did look good in stretches, when it comes to the playoffs, it takes full intensity for the entire game to be successful,” she said.
Warren also gave credit to the Lady Vikings. “Perkiomen Valley really wanted to win tonight and they showed it by playing with full intensity and effort for the entire game."
Warren also said her team should not see the season within the conference as a complete loss.
“It was a great accomplishment, and privlege to reach the semifinal in a strong conference like the PAC-10. While we didn’t accomplish our final goal of playing for the conference championship, I believe, as a team we are moving in the direction we want to,” she said.
“Tonight we let small things get in the way, and keep us from playing as one unit the way we need to. The good news is we will have two good days of practice to get re-focused and ready for district play next week.
The team will get a couple of days off to rest and attend Homecoming before beginning preparations for their district matchup. The District 2A meeting will be held Thursday night to determine the seeding and schedule for the Lady Indians next week.
With Tuesday’s win, Perkiomen Valley will face Owen J Roberts in the PAC-10 final on Thursday night at Upper Perkiomen High School at 7 p.m. The Lady Wildcats advanced to the final with a 6-0 win over Pope John Paul II in Tuesday night’s other semifinal game.
