Larry S. Rosenberger

        Larry S. Rosenberger, 61, of East Greenville, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Joan S. (Butterweck) Rosenberger for 38 years,

        Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Marion (Yerger) Rosenberger.
        He worked for The Children’s Home of Reading, as a youth care worker, until he retired in April 2010. Formerly, he worked for three years at the Hershey Plant, Pennsburg, and for 25 years at Pillsbury, East Greenville. 
        He graduated from Montgomery County Community College in 2004 with an Applied Associates degree in Human Services, in 1996 he graduated from Montgomery County Community College with an Associate of Education Degree and in 1998 he graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Education degree.
        He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg, for many years. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, East Greenville Troop 108, and Jaycees Community Club of East Greenville.
        Surviving, along with his wife, are daughter-in-law, Kate Rosenberger, of Maple Shade; grandson, Chase Rosenberger, of Maple Shade; a brother, Jack Rosenberger and wife, Barbara, of Allentown; sister, Marlene Bodisch and husband, Edward, of Whitehall and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was predeceased by a son, Eric S. Rosenberger.
        A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, with Pastor Charles E. Romanowski officiating. A viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pennsburg.         In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to the memorial fund of St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
