Mary Alice Bilger
2011-09-01

     Mary Alice Bilger, 95, widow of Wilson M. Bilger, Sr., formerly of East Greenville, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Life Quest Nursing Ceneter.

     Born in Mertztown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Annie (Dengler) Muth.

     Before she retired, she worked for Pennsburg Pants Factory, as a seamstress, and sold candy for Luden’s Candy Company for many years.

     Originally she was a member of Old Goshenhoppen Lutheran Church and, when she moved to East Greenville, she became a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Later on, she converted to Catholicism and became a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. 

     Surviving are children: Robert C. Bilger, and wife, Marjorie, of Green Lane and Ruth J. Bean, and companion, Robert J. Kulp, of Green Lane; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.  Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Wilson M. Bilger, Jr.

      A graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Old Goshenhoppen Cemetery, 2092 Church Road, Woxall, PA 18979 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating.
