Gary Peterman, 80, of Douglassville, husband of Barbara Lynn (Boecker) Peterman, died Saturday at Coventry Manor, South Coventry Township.
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Alton M. Peterman and Ruth E. (Ludwig) Peterman.
Mr. Peterman was a mechanical engineer for Baldt Anchor & Chain Co., Chester. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Peterman was a member of First Baptist Church, Pottstown. He recently sang in the choir at First Baptist Church and has done solo work at First Baptist and Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown. He loved fishing, gardening and mowing, cooking and golf.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son. Jeffrey D. Peterman, Pottstown; one daughter, Teri J., wife of Lloyd Hoffman, Birdsboro and one sister, Frances L., wife of C. Donald Lechner, Frederick. He was predeceased by one sister R. Beverly Lindauer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 :00a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, 301 King Street, Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Marvin Marsh. Burial will be private in Limerick Burial Grounds, Limerick. There will be no viewing.
