Don and Fran, who have been Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd-Sacramento members since 1971, renewed their 50th wedding anniversary marriage vows in 1995. Frances, a credentialed educational resource specialist, Sacramento City Schools, since 1971, retired in 1992. She acquired an undergraduate degree from Catawba College, NC (1945), where she and Don met in 1942 and were married in 1945. Frances also earned two advanced degrees from Purdue University in 1962 and 1969, and was enrolled in the PhD program when she and Don accepted university positions in Tennessee. As per family wishes, Frances was cremated; later ashes will be interred in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Red Hill, PA.
