New Hanover Police are investigating a possible attempted child luring incident which occurred in the township Tuesday afternoon.
According to an alert posted on the department's Facebook page, a juvenile female was crossing the road at Romig Road at Martin Drive around 4 p.m. when an early 2000's maroon or purple Jeep Grand Cherokee stopped and a male passenger in the front seat asked her if she wanted to get into the car.
Police said the girl ran away from the area and no further contact was made. The vehicle, however, which was traveling north on Romig Road then reportedly turned around and went south on Romig Road toward Lower Pottsgrove Township.
Authorities checked the area extensively but were unable to locate the vehicles or men inside, police said.
The subjects inside the vehicle are described as two white males in their early to mid-20's. New Hanover Police are asking anyone with information to contact their department at (610)327-1150.
