Harold L. Smoll

       Harold L. Smoll, 85, of Hereford, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 

Pennsburg Manor Nursing Home.  He was the husband of June F. (Fox) Smoll celebrating 60 years of marriage on January 2nd.

      Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Leroy Smoll and Ella (Miller) Smoll Gehman.

      Harold was employed for many years as a Car Painter at the former Heimbach and Sweatt and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict.

      He was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church where he had served as the Sunday School Manager and was on the Board of Trustees.  He also was a member of the American Legion Post #184, East Greenville and the VFW Post #5954, Red Hill and enjoyed golfing, fishing, downhill skiing and camping with his family.

Surviving along with his wife are 3 children, Craig F. Smoll and wife, Susan of Pennsburg, Kindy F. Route and Polly F., wife of Ronald Freed of Pennsburg; 8 grandchildren, Casey, Heidi, Ray, Ben, Todd, Chad, Elyse and Ashley; and 6 great grandchildren, Shea, Raeann, Lydia, Alex, Andrew and Jacob.  Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Linwood.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm with Rev. Nick Pence officiating.  Burial follows in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.
