Alan C. Wetzel

          Alan C. Wetzel, 57, husband of Rosanne Glod, of Barto, passed away on 

Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home. 

          Born in Sellersville, he was a son of Robert E. and Jane C. (Zepp) Wetzel of Elizabethtown.

          He worked 18 years as a Controller for Teleflex Marine Corp., in Limerick, retiring in 2013 and also at Baldwin Brass, Reading and Easton Printing.

          He was a 1974 graduate of Upper Perk High School where he played the trombone in the band and a 1978 graduate of Kutztown University.

          He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bath and Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bally. 

          Surviving along with his wife and parents, are 3 daughters, Lauren A. Glod-Wetzel, of North Arlington, NJ, and Megan N. Glod-Wetzel and Kristen M. Glod-Wetzel, both of Barto and a brother, Rev. Jay R. Wetzel and his wife, Jill, of Bath.

          A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally PA 19503.  Burial is in St. Isidore's Cemetery, Quakertown.  There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with a sharing time at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.  Offer sympathy to the family at

          Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the ALS Assoc. Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002; Most Blessed Sacrament Church, P O Box C, Bally PA 19503, St. John's Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St, Bath PA 18014, or Montgomery Co. SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Road, Perkiomenville, PA  18074.
