Elsie M. Walls
Elsie M. Walls, 102, of Telford, peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at The Lutheran Community at Telford. She was the wife of the late Vernon Walls who passed in 1967.
Born July 29, 1911 in Hoppenville, Elsie was the second child of eight of the late Elmer and Jennie (Weiss) Freed.
After finishing 10th grade, Elsie trained in Allentown and later worked in Boyertown as a hairdresser. In September 1960, she married Vernon Walls who was employed at PECO, now Exelon. Elsie and Vernon moved to Lansdale where Elsie opened her own salon which she operated until her move to The Lutheran Community at Telford in 1996.
Elsie is survived by a step daughter, Nancy McVey and her husband, Gary, of Kerrville, TX; two step-grandchildren, Michael McVey and his wife, Tracy, Melinda McCluskey and her husband, Scot; four step great grandchildren, Kelsey, Dan, Spencer, Anna Ling. Elsie is also survived by sister-in-law Leah Moll of Red Hill, brother-in-law Walton Heckler of Blue Bell, brother-in-law Robert Stoudt Sr. of Collegeville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie is preceded in death by seven siblings.
Relatives and friends may greet the family, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 West Main Street, Lansdale, PA, 19446 where the Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m..
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elsie's memory to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX, 75231 or to Trinity Lutheran church at the above address.
