Due to icing and weather conditions, the Vets for Vets ribbon-cutting, house tour and awards ceremony scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 has been postponed. The event has been rescheduled to March 22.
The non-profit organization, which assists US veterans through various programs during their readjustment from military to civilian life, will be holding a series of events to celebrate the renovation of their military transitional home at 32 4th Street in Pennsburg and to recognize the individuals who have contributed to the organization's mission thus far.
The schedule of events includes a ribbon-cutting and house tour at 11 a.m. at the Pennsburg transitional home, a 12 noon introduction by Vets for Vets founder, Jake Leone, at the Red Hill firehouse and luncheon, catered by Smokin' Smitty's, followed by an awards ceremony and closing remarks.
The ribbon-cutting and house tour are free and the public is welcome to attend. Tickets for the luncheon are $15 each and can be obtained online at soldiertocivilian.org, or by mailing a check to Vets for Vets at 32 4th Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
A raffle featuring gift certificates and prizes from area businesses will be also be held at the Red Hill firehouse. Support the work being done for our nation's veterans by this local organization.
