Jean A. Kahler
Jean A. (Bauman) Kahler, 90, widow of LeRoy C.
Kahler, of East Greenville, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Phoebe Richland Healthcare Center.
Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Anna (Barr) Bauman.
She was a graduate of East Greenville High School and a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ of East Greenville.
She worked as a cook at the American Legion Post # 184 of East Greenville; was past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and served in many capacities with the American Legion locally and regionally.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard Kahler and his wife, Brenda of East Greenville; and Daryl Kahler and his wife, Beverley of Pennsburg; three grandchildren, Gary, Jeff and Sierra. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Forrest Bauman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
