Elizabeth B. Sinclair
Elizabeth B. Sinclair, age 103, died at Dock Terrace, Towamencin Township, on Sept. 13. She was the wife of the late Alonzo L. “Feet” Sinclair who died in 1984. The couple was married at
the family home in Woodside, DE on July 8, 1931.
Born on the family farm near Wyoming, DE, she was one of four children born to the late John Arnold and Mary Berry (Cowgill) Barnard. Elizabeth graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware in 1928.
Elizabeth graduated from the Women’s College at the University of DE in 1931. She taught in a one-room school house for a year before marrying Feet.
The Sinclairs eventually moved to Norristown where Elizabeth became active with PTAs, Eta Delta Tau, Salvation Army, Christ Church, several bridge groups, a Questers group, and the Norristown School Board, serving several years as President.
Lib and Feet built a retirement home in Salford, PA, and became active in the Goschenhoppen Historians. They also built a retirement home in St. Croix where they spent eleven winters. They became active in the Moravian Church and organized a group to meet cruise ships.
After Feet died, Lib moved to the Peter Becker Community, volunteering in their gift shop. In 2008 she moved to the Dock Woods Community where she made new friends and continued watching sports on TV, especially the Philadelphia Phillies.
Elizabeth is survived by three children; Mary E. Smith of Norristown, George Sinclair II of Boca Raton, FL, Nida Sinclair Oschwald of Pennsburg, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Her Memorial Service will be held Dock Woods Community Chapel, Woods Drive, Lansdale on Friday, Oct. 11, 11:00AM, where the family will greet friends from 10-11:00. Interment will be private at Norris City Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s name to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive, Ft.
