LEGAL NOTICE MARLBOROUGH TOWNSHIP
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Marlborough Township will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 7:00 PM to consider enactment of an ordinance to establish guidelines and regulations for sewer lateral and sump pump inspections. The meeting will be held in the municipal building located at 6040 Upper Ridge Road, Green Lane, PA, 18054. The public is invited to attend and comment on the proposed ordinance. Persons with disabilities, wishing to attend the Public Meeting and requiring auxiliary aid, service, or other accommodations to participate, should contact Marlborough Township Manager Eleanor F. Sadorf at 215-234-9300. The Board of Supervisors may consider enactment of the ordinance at this meeting.
The full text of the proposed ordinance may be examined, without charge, and copies may be obtained for a charge no greater than the cost of reproduction, at the offices of this newspaper, and at the municipal building during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
A summary of the proposed ordinance setting forth all the provisions in reasonable detail is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MARLBOROUGH, ENTITLED SEWER LATERAL INSPECTIONS FOR PROPERTIES CONNECTED TO THE GREEN LANE MARLBOROUGH JOINT AUTHORITY SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, UPON PROPERTY TRANSFER, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS FOR SEWER LATERAL AND SUMP PUMP INSPECTIONS.
Section 1: Section 1 provides the procedure and requirements of sewer lateral and sump pump inspections at the time of property transfers for all properties in Marlborough Township that are connected to the Green Lane Marlborough Joint Authority sanitary sewer system. The sections are as follows: §1. Purpose; §2. Purpose and Intent; §3 Word usage; definitions; §4. Required inspections; application forms; scheduling; §5. Sewer lateral and Sump Pump Inspection; §7 Identified Sewer Inspection violations; §8. Identified sewer lateral deficiencies; sewer lateral certification; §9 Exceptions to the sewer lateral inspection; §10 Issuance of final and temporary sewer inspection certificate; §11 Reservation of other remedies; §12. Violations and penalties, and §13. When effective.
Section 2: Section 2 provides that if any provision in the ordinance is invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3: Section 3 provides that the ordinance supersedes all other ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance.
Section 4: Section 4 provides the effective date of the ordinance.
